Julie A. Dugan

Julie was born in Hammond, Indiana, and spent her childhood in Lake County until she graduated from Lake Central High School within the top 2% of her class in 1992. During that time, she was dedicated to helping others through tutoring fellow students and refereeing youth basketball.

Julie received her B.A. with honors in German from Hanover College in 1996. While at Hanover, Julie began her fight for those who could not fight for themselves by participating in the mock United Nations and an internship with Amnesty International. Additionally, she participated in a clerkship under the Honorable Ted R. Todd, Circuit Court Judge of Jefferson County.

She later went on to receive her J.D. with honors from the University of Cincinnati before returning to her roots in Lake County to raise a family. She is now intimately involved in the community with her daughters and volunteers at the Griffith Soccer Club and in the Griffith Public Schools.

Julie is currently admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Indiana and the Federal District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. She is a member of the Indiana State and Lake County Bar Associations. She donates her services to the Lake County pro bono committee and volunteers her time by speaking in area high schools and educating them about their basic rights.

Prior to Dugan & Repay, Julie focused her practice primarily in the area of insurance defense. Assignments through various carriers have not only included auto, premises, and product liability defense but also defending against federal civil rights actions and claims against municipalities. Since forming her Dugan & Repay partnership, Julie has dedicated her practice to representing plaintiffs in Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation.
